In jargon of intel what is the best proccesor out at hand?

Is the most expensive one the best? What is prescott and

Cedar Mill, Conroe, Kentsfield, Northwood, Prescot, Presler, Smithfield ? What is the difference?

In jargon of intel what is the best proccesor out at hand?

Those are the Intel code name for different processors. For example, Pentium 4 is the retail name of a long enumerate of processors, Northwood and Prescott are two of them. The best right now are the two Core 2 Extremes, one is a dual core running at 2.93 Ghz, the other is a quad core running at 2.66Ghz. The dual core is a Conroe and the quad core is a Kentsfield.
You will find the same feature and speed for a cheaper price if you go near an AMD
The Intel Core 2 Extreme is the best. Prescott and Conroe... those are the different processors TRUE names that true determine some smaller things (voltage mostly).
