is a pentium 3 800mhz cpu and 128mb hit apt satisfactory for a mame cabnet?

it will work on your computer but i support getting 256mb ram..for flawless performance otherwise ur a short time ago meeting the minimum

Many, but not adjectives, computers will run MAME. Its performance depends mostly on a system's CPU speed and, to a smaller extent, the amount of memory. Also, the conduct of individual games varies, as some games enjoy higher hardware requirements than others.

Here is a supporting PC system that will play (and hold) about partly of the MAME-supported games:

Intel Celeron / AMD Duron 1000 MHz

128 - 256 MB RAM

a varying amount of hard drive space (a complete MAME ROM set would thieve over forty gigabytes, but most individual ROM sets are quite small)

DirectX (Windows version) or VESA 2.0+ (DOS version) compatible graphics card

Any nouns card that works in Windows (Windows version) or Sound Blaster compatible nouns card (DOS version)

GRAPHICS: These games don't use modern 3D effects, so a 3D graphics card isn't necessary, though one allows you to use special eyeshade effects in the Windows copy. For DOS, your best choice is a good 2D card near VESA 2.0 support and 4 MB or more of video memory (good choices here are Matrox G200 or G400, or the ATI Radeon for quality TV-output).
